7A - Testing the Hypothesis

The opportunity I would like to pursue is having a subscription program for plants. People would be ships plants on a monthly base. The Who is people who have a interest in having plants at there house. The what is plants are hard to take care of for a long period of time. The why is plants require fertilizing and watering.

My hypothesis is people want plants delivered to them monthly through a subscription.

Testing The Who
I believe there are a large number of people who have this need to be delivered new plants to there house monthly. Everyone in my current who shares the need to have new plants. However maybe they would rather go pick out the plants on there own. The people in the current who may also want plants during the spring or summer when it is not to cold for plants to survive.

Testing the What
Does everyone want the same plants? Will people only want plants during certain periods of the year? How many plants do people want delivered to them? Do they want different types of plants delivered each month or all the same type?

Testing the Why
The why I identified does not apply to everyone. It differs on who the people are. Some take care of their plants more than others. However even if they do take care of there plants they still may want new plants shipped to them monthly.

Would you be interested in a subscription that delivers you plants monthly for your house? "I would be interest in getting a plant or two delivered to me."

How many plants do you have on your front porch or patio?" I currently live in a apartment so I do not have any plants."

What type of plants would you like to be delivered to you monthly? " I would like to have any type of flower plant delivered to me just to add color in my apartment"

Would you want the plants delivered year around? " Yeah I would want the plants delivered to me year around"

Why would you want the monthly subscription? "I would like a monthly subscription just to have different types of plants in my apartment"

How many plants do you have on your front porch or patio? "On my front porch I do not have any plants, but on my patio I have quiet a few."

What type of plants would you like to be delivered to you monthly? "I would like pretty much any plants delivered to me, plants of color or green ones. I think any plants look good."

Would you want the plants delivered year around? "Yes I would defiantly want plants delivered to me year around I think it would be nice if the plants were seasonal ones."

Why would you want the monthly subscription? "I would want a monthly subsciption to help me keep my house looking nice with new plants all around. "

How many plants do you have on your front porch or patio? "I do not have a front porch or a patio, but I do have a orchid in my room now."

What type of plants would you like to be delivered to you monthly? " If I was to have a subscription, I would want orchids or flowers delivered to me."

Would you want the plants delivered year around? "I wouldn't want plants delivered to me yearly around cause I do not really have a use for plants at my apartment now."

Why would you want the monthly subscription? "I would want a monthly subscription if I have a house or bigger place where I could put the plants."

How many plants do you have on your front porch or patio? " I have four on my front porch and a few on the patio"

What type of plants would you like to be delivered to you monthly? "I would love plants like ferns or any shrub. I think having a type of flowering plant delivered each month would be awesome too."

Would you want the plants delivered year around? " Yeah if I had a subscription I would want the plants delivered to me year around. "

Why would you want the monthly subscription? " I would like a monthly subscription to help me keep up with maintaining plants at my house."

How many plants do you have on your front porch or patio? "I have a couple on my patio and a couple on the porch."

What type of plants would you like to be delivered to you monthly? " I would like that plants I have at my house now, just new ones sent to me"

Would you want the plants delivered year around? " Yeah if I did have a subscription I would like to have plants brought to be all year."

Why would you want the monthly subscription? " I would want a monthly subscription just so I wouldn't have to take care of my plants on my patio. If they die I would just replace with the new ones sent to me"

I found that many people would be interested in a subscription. Some people said they wouldn't be interested because they did really care about the plants at there house much. People who did like plants loved the idea of having a subscription. They would be able to see a variety of plants and test ones that work well for them. I know from the interviews that everyone would want the subscription year around.
